Here I Go Again On My Own...

Not exactly down the only road I've ever known though. More like a flight path I've never known. Here's what's on the slate for the next 4 weeks:

- I fly out at tonight in less than an hour.  I arrive in Dubai around midnight tomorrow. Going to be a loooong flight.
- I'm there for about 4 days, with a day trip to the Arabian desert, a ride up the Burj Khalifa, and visits to the Burj al Arab, beaches, and many other wonderful things I'm sure.
- Sunday I fly into Kilamanjaro airport (nope not climbing it. Want to. Cuzco taught me I shouldn't.) I'll be there for almost a week staying at safari lodges, visiting the Serengeti and Ngoro Ngoro craters, and doing whatever it is people do when traveling there (I heard something about maybe seeing wildlife?). I may get to squeeze in a hot air balloon ride too, and somewhere along the drive I'll get to reconnect with some seriously long lost ancestors in Olduvai Gorge
- then it's off to Egypt for a bit more than a week on a group tour, taking in the pyramids, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simpel, and floating down the Nile on a Felucca. May or may not try to catch a glimpse of Tahrir square. Probably shouldn't. But oh so tempting.
- on the way home I'll be stopping in Jordan to cross Petra off the bucket list (including a night time tour) and take my second dip in the dead sea.

Should be a lot of fun and adventure. First up will be figuring out how to get to my hotel after midnight in Dubai. Work has been a (understatement warning) tad  busy lately so I haven't had time to figure out such unimportant details. Not anticipating that to be a problem. If it is I'll just have another good story for the blog.

Well, flights about to board. See you all in March. Maybe.
